New Sheikh Zayed City is one of the new residential cities affiliated with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Communities. This area is a wonderful addition to the city of Sheikh Zayed, as it extends to 21,000 acres in a distinctive location northwest of the current city of Sheikh Zayed.
It is located in the northwest of Sheikh Zayed, near many important landmarks in the city. Such as: West Cairo Airport, the Smart Village, and the industrial zone in Abu Rawash, as it is an extension of the current Sheikh Zayed.
It is easy to reach New Sheikh Zayed via a number of main roads, such as: the Cairo/Alexandria Desert Road from the north, the northern expansions of 6th of October City from the south, the desert backroad from the west, and the Dahshur Link from the west.
It is planned to build roads or bridges linking the new city to the current city, or to implement new entrances on the Alexandria Road and the Dahshur Link.
The area of the new expansions in Sheikh Zayed is 21,000 acres, divided into two phases:
The first phase: The land area is 8,300 acres, and it is located west of Sheikh Zayed City.
The first phase contains about 5,000 vacant plots of land that can be developed. The cost of implementing the residential area in the first phase is estimated at 10 billion pounds.
The second phase: The land area is 2,500 acres, and it is located east of Sheikh Zayed City.
The lands of the second phase are lands belonging to the Green Revolution Association owned by individuals and companies, and the phase does not contain any vacant lands.
